My 4 1/2 year old son really wanted a light saber after first watching Star Wars. So the Easter Bunny brought him these 2 light sabers. They do not have any sound or light effects. You have to slide a button down (which is kinda hard to do for a 4 year old) and whip your arm sideways to make the light portion come out. They are very basic toys, but they look just like a Star Wars light saber, and are really durable when being clanked and hit on another light saber. My son played for hours and hours with his cousins and they stand up to being hit like a real light saber fight. You have to push the "light" back in by hand and there is a spring clip that retains the "light" in the main unit. There is a large clip that you can use to hang your light saber onto your pants so you feel like a Jedi (or the Sheriff for that matter) when it is clipped onto your belt and you are walking along ready for an intergalactic fight. For the money, these are really durable and look cool. My son and his cousins believed that they were the real thing and had numerous battles both being the good then the bad guy. My son is 4 years old, so he has never seen either of the Iron Man movies. However, due to media merchandising and having older cousins, he is enamored with the character. It seems little boys and super heroes are meant to be together. So as a reward for good behavior, we got him this Iron Man toy. Save DC Universe Classic Superboy Figure
This is Superboy, but not just any Superboy. 90's Superboy! Freshly cloned and full of attitude. He mellowed out later and started dressing better (less 90's-ish) but this is where the current version of Superboy started. But does he make a good figure?
For Kids:
OK, it is Superboy but most young kids won't recognize this version I think. He didn't really appear like this outside of comics. But on the other side he is recognizably from the Super Family so it's a toss up there. He is a great toy though if your kid likes the look.
For Adults:
As gaudy as his outfit is it does make for an interesting figure. All that goofy stuff like, glasses, jacket and belts gives the sculptors something to play with. The (x-ray) glasses are glued to his face. They are round and the right size so look good. If you were to rip them off, his face and eyes are fully sculpted under there. His jacket looks good with great detail on the zippers, belts and collar. Some don't like the way the bottom corners of the jacket flare out in front, and I can see that, but I kind of like it as it gives him a dynamic action look. His fisted hands are in gloves - the 90's kind with really impractical baggy cuffs. He's got a double belt around his waist, a belt on his right thigh and belts on his shins. Seriously it was the 90's - you're lucky there weren't pouches all over him. The base body is underneath it all is the basic teen DCUC body.
Superboy is super colorful as well with black, blue, red, yellow, silver and gold all represented. The glasses are solid black. It might have been nice to get something transparent but they look fine. The yellow S shield on the back of the jacket and the S on his chest are both very neat. Most details are clean with the small exception of the yellow thigh and shin belts.
Articulation is standard for this line, ball neck and shoulders, single pin elbows and cut wrists round out the arms. He's got an ab crunch and cut waist (although a bit limited due to all those belts), universal hips, cut thighs, pin knees and ankles.
No accessories other than his Trigon collect and connect piece.
I don't know if it's the goofy 90's outfit and the details they allowed, all the colors or just 90's nostalgia (if there is such a thing) but I like him. I have a feeling that this guy's score will vary based on personal taste quite a bit and if you care about the Trigon piece but I give him 4 stars and he's my second favorite in this line (behind DC Universe Classic Blue Beetle 4 Figure, Wave 13).

He's red wearing white which kind of makes for an eye popping contrast. There isn't anything particularly impressive about his body other than being big but there is good detail in his bracelets, hands, belt and loin cloth. The coolest thing though is he comes with two accessories of his own. His white dragon topped staff which is about the same height as him and his white cape. The collar of the cape is done up in skeletal detail and it looks great. And the cape has wire along the outside edges - a feature you usually find in higher end collectibles that allows you to "pose" the cape as well. I call it an accessory as it comes separate and is removable as it fits into a hole in his back via a soft rubber peg. Brought this toy for a friends child. We thought we should make sure it was working OK. It was such great fun & very impressive. The mouth moves when Buzz gives commands & it does everything that was stated.It is solid. You do have to read the instructions to be able to use it properly & not sure that an 8 year old would be able to do this, without a parents help. The instruction book is good & well set out & easy enough for an adult.Your child will love this.

My son got this toy for his fourth birthday this week and yesterday we started having the same problems reported by others: when you turned the key the toy would make a short motor sound and blink the lights under the dashboard twice, but then it wouldn't start rolling. I figured it was the batteries that came with the toy and replaced them, to no avail. At that point I decided to open the toy to see if I could figure out what the problem was.
After just a few minutes I figured it out. Under the hood, there is a "kill switch" that's activated by the front wheels, so that the toy won't start if it's not on the ground with the front wheels pushed up. Great idea in theory, but it apparently came loose while my son had been playing with it. I reseated it and reattached the body of the toy and it works like a charm again.

DC Universe Classic Blue Beetle 4 Figure, Wave 13 Review
DC Universe Classics Blue Beetle (III). We got Ted Kord and now Jamie Reyes. The newest Blue Beetle may have seemed a hard sell at first (low rent Batman to techno-super kid?) but Jamie Reyes's good natured self (almost Spider-Man like) and appearances in cartoons make him a lovable hero. Add to that the fantasy of being a kid with amazing abilities and he's a winner.
For Kids:
Did I not mention he's been in several episodes of Batman the Brave and the Bold? And in comics? And is a kid with extraordinary powers? How about, this is just a great toy and unique. Plus, like most DCUC he's durable too. If your kids don't love him send me a comment and I'll let you know where to mail the figure. :-)
For Adults:
Sculpt is very detailed. His expression is a bit "turned down". I might have liked to see a more happy go lucky type, considering his character, but this is him in battle mode I suppose with turned down mouth. There is a lot of detail to him with the designs of his armor sculpted in rather than just painted on. The carapace on his back has detail making it look beetle like. And the there is scalloping on his lower torso, upper legs and upper arms. The legs of the beetle reach around his body and antenna stick up. All very top notch. The wings are tall and nice and the arm blade has plenty of detail too.
The paint is cool and clean with blue on black and yellow eyes. All the details are clean and neat. The blue appears slightly metallic.
He's very well articulated being something of a unique body. He's got the typical ball neck and shoulders but has double pin elbows and ball type hands. He's got the ab crunch and cut waist, the universal hips, cut thighs then the bonus double pin knees and lastly pin ankles. Very nice and the double elbows and knees are unique in this line.
He has his big clear blue wings that look really great. They are removable but this does leave three big holes in his back which looks a little odd. Still great for varied looks though. He has an arm blade which is soft rubber. It fits on his forearm and while I can see that some may have trouble getting it to stay I have not had issues. Alternatively you can place on his upper arm if you want to. And lastly he has his piece of Trigon.
All in all he's cool looking, is a fun character with recognition factor, has great articulation and 2 to 3 accessories (depending if you care about Trigon). He's my favorite in this wave.

Ben 10 Alien Force Omnitrix Hero Collection Top Quality
This product does not last very long with normal play. The sound is too quiet and you have to place your ear close to it just to hear what it says. In less than a week, the electronics of the sound stopped working all together but the light still blinked somewhat. We tried new batteries so it wasn't caused by that. I wanted to return for replacement, but the seller did not have one to replace it. Because they no longer sell this version in the stores, apparently other sellers are asking a lot more than what I paid for it. I decided to keep the broken one with all its characters and buy the one available at the store, but there is one problem. The one available at the store does not recognize the brown plastic character that was unique to the set I bought on amazon. Overall, I would stick to the one sold in stores. At least you can more easily return them if it stops working. Transformers Voyager Starscream Immediately
Really nice. Lot's of reviews already out there so I'll concentrate on the things that stand out.
The figure has a really cool transformation, I commend the designers of the toy. How does one think of a transformation that has his legs and chest fold up like that? Really neat. The jet has a nice clean underbelly, not too much clutter. Much more streamlined than the first movie Starscream.
The robot mode's back is also nice. There is a "backpack" present, but it blends in with the whole design of the robot. Although they could have made it fold in much farther and flatter into the upper torso's back.
They could have also done a little better with how the upper arm connects with the upper torso. They could have also added a hinge on the hands so that it folds into the jet right underneath the jet's thrusters. (Like in the instruction manual) But then again, it may raise the production cost of the toy. The designers may have had to compromise on a lot of things to keep the price down, but it still is an awesome overall figure.
I'm not really a fan of gimmicks like firing missiles and stuff, cuz they could have done away with all that and made a much better looking and much more screen accurate toy. However, they have to appease the younger customers.
The "tattoos" or the warpaint on the jet is OK I guess. I think without the warpaint, the gaps on top of the jet would be too obvious, so I welcome it.

Cool toy. He doesn't follow directions every time but its often enough to be a lot of fun. He works better when the background noise is kept to a minimum (like turning the TV off). The "Dance program", "Remember Darth Vader" and "Play message" responses are especially entertaining to Star Wars fans. Once he has you trained to wait for his responses (positive or negative), he works much better. Battery life seems pretty good. My Clone Wars loving 6 year old daughter wanted this for her Anakin. She got the Saesee Tiin fighter last year for Ahsoka Tano. This one has the ability to convert to two fighters with a slight pull and reconnects easily enough that she can do it. The figure fits securely and the cockpit is better designed. The astrodroid section is very well designed and will take the Clone Wars R2-D2 or Goldie very well and fits any other series astromech. This is an improvement over the episode III Jedi interceptors.
She loves it. Now she's nagging for the Ahsoka Tano fighter too.

This is a great figure. Great detail and durability. The removable mask is an awesome feature and under the mask is a quite accurate representation of Don Cheadle's face. The arrticulation is not the best. But most marvel select don't have much anyway. NOTE: In the movie war machine has a red arc reactor. However in this figure, he has a blue reactor with red eyes. That does not match apparently. But it is an easy fix. I simply used a solid red paint to fix his reactor. This is a great figure over all. Order Iron Man New Repulsor Power Iron Man
Yes, I realize my son is a little young for this action figure. He however disagrees. At 19 months old, Iron man is my son's favorite super hero! He loves the movie, and anytime he sees anything related to iron man in stores he jumps up and down cheering "I Iron Man!!!" This toy has become a favorite of his! It is surprisingly durable and has withstood all his abuse. I did remove the "launching projectiles" to prevent him from injuring himself or me, and he plays with it daily under supervision...
The action figure says several phrases and the sound quality is excellent. The paint job is excellent as well, and I would have to say this is one of the best action figures I have seen in a while (it does not look or feel cheap) and you can not beat the price! (We picked it up on sale for $15 a month or two ago)

I would have given this toy a higher rating if not for the mat. Everything else about this is great - the dinosaurs, the volcanos, trees, box. The mat is the issue. It's a flimsy piece of plastic that curls up and is not at all durable. My kids play with the rest of this set - the mat has been destroyed. Presently this DCU figure is the Russian Roulette of figures: when you order it from Amazon you may get one of 3 different Cheetah figures, 2 moderns and 1 classic. All I ever wanted was the classic Cheetah, but after many attempts and returns I am stuck with the modern clothed and unclothed versions of Barbara Minerva. Only recently did Amazon wise up and state that "styles may vary." There is little difference between these two. While the appearance and painting of these two figures are adequate, she, like many of the feminine characters produced in this line, are too frail to pose or stand upright, even with the help of a stand. The product is necessary to complete the composite figure, but in itself it's only okay. Transformers Movie 2 Leader Jetfire Immediately
This toy is not half as good as I had expected. When I bought it for my son, he was elated and immediately opened it. However, after two rough hours of attaching and reattaching many pieces that kept falling off, he was disappointed. He is usually good about toys that aren't up to his standards, but this one just didn't cut it. He finally got frustrated and told me he didn't desire to play with it anymore. So I naturally wanted to know what was the matter. I went over and read the instructions, and was puzzling over it for about 10 minutes until I had to ask my older daughter's help. After reading thoroughly twice, she told me she thought she understood. However, when she attempted to put it together, a piece fell off-- one of the same pieces that had discouraged my son. We kept trying, until she finally gave up in despair. We were all disappointed with the toy, and I wouldn't suggest buying it unless you really enjoy latching and re-latching on minuscule parts and trying to make out difficult instructions. Star Wars Clone Wars Captain Rex Helmet Best Quality
Yesterday I bought this Captain Rex helmet for [...]. The helmet comes in several parts, so it must be assembled. Trust me when I say: take the time to snap it together right! This helmet will NOT fall apart if it is assembled correctly. It took a fair amount of pressure to snap the pieces into place, but that also means it won't come apart while it's being used. (It also takes a few trys to get the head strap fitted right.) The helmet's antenna has a light on it that glows red when switched on. Another cool feature is the clone com. system. While pressing a botton on the side of the helmet, the user can speak through a mic that makes your voice sound (slightly) like a clone. Some reviews say that the mic is too low, but it can be ajusted towards the wearer's mouth if needed. The helmet also has several pre-recorded phrases spoken by Capt. Rex, Anakin, and Yoda. In case you are wondering, the visibility is fairly decent while wearing the helmet. (I'll admitt I tripped on a low object once.) Overall, this is great for yourself, a gift, or anyone who likes Star Wars! Transformers Voyager Optimus Prime Get it now!
$20 for this transformer isn't bad, and Optimus Prime really delivers. This particular toy is great for a first transformer because the transformation is fairly easy.(Even though the directions can be confusing at times.) Even though the robot mode isn't movie completely accurate, it still looks awesome. My friends (even the older ones) thought this was a cool transformer too. The durability is only 4 stars because his arm guards fell off a few times. No problem though; they snap back on. Prime's smoke stacks convert to twin blasters that shoot plastic missiles. Robot mode is pretty cool. As with most transformers, his eyes glow when a light source is behind them. Truck mode is ok, but he doesn't roll very well because his arms are tucked under him and tend to drag. I like this toy alot.
