Every time we passed this jet pack in the store, my die hard Toy Story fan would start pleading for it. As embarrassing as this was (no one--not even a mom--appreciates a gimmie kid), I couldn't helped put be charmed by the idea of this toy. After dozens and dozens of "not today" and "maybe for your birthday", and my daughter's own attempts at using household items to double for a jet pack, I caved when I saw it on Amazon, and that it would ship for free.
The straps are a little flimsy, and the wings are not movable components, but the toy has provided hours and hours of entertainment for her and my one year old who watches. You'll really want to ask yourself if you aren't going to mind your kid running around the house shouting and making electronic noises for hours at a time, but if you can hold out, the extended nap is a pretty decent pay out. Each summer I buy a new float for my pool. The price on this was more than I've spent on other floats but I should have heeded the reviews. It is shorter than most floats, and the backrest sits at an uncomfortable angle, so if you like to read a book while on the float, it is not the most comfortable. For some reason it also feels unsturdy; any slight movement to left or right risks tilting over. In fact, I did tip into the pool at one point, with my library book in hand! Avatar RDA Scorpion Gunship Review
My 6 year old just loves Avatar, so I had to get him a few of the toys.
This one I was worried about since one of the reviewers mentioned how difficult it had been to put the small canard with weapons in, he was worried that the pressure to get it fully inserted nearly bent the plastic. And after putting together two of the flying creatures (which were a pain), I was fully expecting to have that issue, but I did not.
All the pieces went together solidly on mine but without any insane effort like the other toys required.
it's solidly made, and the pieces fit and stay well.
Detail is surprisingly good, and for a kid, it's easy to just hold by the tail and run around with it "flying".
As noted, the pretend guns on the small canards under the cockpit swivel back and forth, but no other ones move. The rotors tilt, but since I haven't had it that long, I've had no problems as others have noted with it getting loose real quick, but since I don't foresee my 6 year old doing much tilting, I don't think I'll have the same problem.
The little spring fired missile doesn't have much range, so clearly the spring isn't that strong, not likely to hurt someone seriously even if they were shot in the eye, just irritate it.
all in all a good toy, especially for the price range. I just wish they had thrown little motors in the rotors with a battery pack inside since that would've made it outstanding...

Avatar Na'vi Thanator Creature Top Quality
I just saw Avatar a few weeks ago, and after the chase scene with this thing and Jake (first 25 minutes or so of the movie) the Thanator immediately became my favorite creature of the movie apart from the mountain banshees and the Leop..whats its face. But one thing that made the Thanator my favorite apart from every other creature was how violent it was. Once this thing started it didn't stop. So this is what drove me into buying it.
Now the figure itself, while looking like it popped right out of the movie, it did have some flaws I found were worth mentioning. First, as you will know, the figure is unassembled so your task is to put it together. It comes in 10 pieces; torso, head, neck, tail, and 6 legs. The head, neck, & torse seemed to go together smoothly, the tail requires a little pressure to snap on completely so that I didn't mind. A very minor flaw I had was while it could open, the jaw barely extends, but this is very minor. The biggest issue I had with the assembly of this figure was the legs. Now granted I've put together many things in my collection so I thought this would be cake. Boy was I wrong. I don't know about everyone else who owns this, but it seemed like no matter how much pressure I applied to this the legs would not snap in. So after several failed attempts to get these legs in, I finally decided to glue them on, which kills the articulated points but it saved me frustration. Despite all of this it does look great when it is assembled. Though I wouldn't treat this piece as a play toy nor would I recommend this for a 5 year old who is natually violent when it comes to play time. This is more of a collector's piece rather than something that can be thrown around the house.

Transformers Human Alliance - Bumblebee with Sam Immediately
My son got this for his birthday and he was so pleased with it. He was so excited to play with it and it only took him a few seconds to get it out of the box. He played with it constantly and for several hours. At first the transformation seemed hard but he figured it out very quickly and he can now do it with ease. It features great articulation. It is very screen accurate and matches the movie model quite nicely. The Sam Witwicky figure actually looks like Shia Labouf. My son loves this figure and it is one of his favorites.
Note: There is a modification that can be made to make the figure even more screen accurate. If you want to do this with your figure it is actually pretty simple. There are two screws in the back of his waste. Unscrew them and split the waste in half. After that swap the legs and rotate and twist them so that the wheels are faceing the outside of his body. Finally put the legs into place and screw the waste back together. He will still transform into car mode but you have to make a clearense in the waste so that it will rotate. Avatar RDA Combat Amp Suit Get it now!
Of the four avatar toys I got at the same time, this was the only real disappointment. The way they connect the legs to the body is just not well done. The legs have a male piece protruding, like a hexagonal shape, that mates into the same shaped female receptacle on the body, but that female receptacle is protruded, and is very thin, weak plastic. One of the legs went in alright, but I saw the other one, the female side of the connection on the body was cracked even before we could try to put it together, so while the part would slide in, it would not stay in, nor could you move the leg since it just pulled that crack apart and let the male piece spin rather than being held properly.
The detail was impressive on the rest of it, but even if it hadn't been broken before we got it, this way of joining the legs would surely have had them crack within a day or two of use anyway from the force of pivoting that leg with such a thin bit of plastic holding it there...
So it's back in the box and a return already set up with Amazon... Too bad, as this would've been a neat addition. If you're just looking for something for display though, this would work well, as if I were just going to display it, I could've just glued that piece and had no concerns, but I got it for my 6 year old and while the gunship and the fliers will stand up to him, this never would have lasted...avaGet more detail about Avatar RDA Combat Amp Suit.

I got this along with the gunship, robot walker, and the green flier. This one is a better build quality than the smaller green one. Wings fit better at the body, and on this one actually *can* be forcefully pried into two positions, though as another reviewer stated the difference is very subtle, not much of an angle difference. But at least these wings conform to the body well, there's not some really bad misfit joining like the smaller one.
I have had no problems with the wings staying in mine with my 6 year old playing with it though, all my pieces are in there very solidly.
Like the smaller green one, I'm curious about the "20 points of articulation", since I cannot find them...
We don't have any of the humanoid figures, so I can't comment on the fit and matching of the scale...
Colors are pretty good, but as so many others have said, could've been a bit more vibrant like the movie.

Low Price Iron Man Arc Chest Light
Long story short, I ended up with some iron shrapnel embedded in my chest a few years ago. I've been using a small magnet to try to keep the pieces from piercing my heart, but when I heard about this product, being familiar with the Iron Man story, I thought it might serve as a perfect more permanent replacement. Little did I know that this was not actually a functional arc reactor but rather some cheap plastic replica with a light bulb inside.
So, giving it the benefit of the doubt, I tried it out anyway, inserting it into the hole in my chest where I normally place the magnets, and I ended up getting rushed to the hospital. I'm lucky I didn't die.

Save Avatar Na'vi Neytiri Action Figure
I got this for Christmas as my family knows there are some Action Figures I do go out of my way to collect. I hadn't planned on picking up any of the Avatar Figures due to the quality of the figures from looking at their packaging.
It's about on par with what you can expect of toys and actions based off of movies where they whip them out and jack up the prices to pull in the Collectors and cash in on the latest Movie Craze.
I let my 3 yr old play with this figure as I thought that would be alright... the figure isn't durable. The right leg pops off no matter how careful you are. And there is metal in the figure for the joints, so yeah, becareful of any wearing out.

Discount Disney / Pixar TS3 12" Buzz Lightyear
This is a deluxe Buzz model. In my opinion it really should be bought for older kids and/or collectors. Any parent knows the more electronic stuff and doodad's a toy has the more probability it might break (or at least that is the way it has always been for me). This is an expensive toy as well.
My son's 10 and has been asking for this toy for some time. At his age, where he knows how to play carefully with toys, I was fine with him using his allowance (of course we chipped in!) to purchase this version of Buzz. It does all sorts of things and, in general, is a blast to play with.
However, if I had a 2-8 year old who still tended to drop toys, bang on them, throw them around, drag them everywhere, and so on I would choose this toy instead Disney Ultimate Buzz Lightyear Talking Action Figure -- 12" or Disney / Pixar TS Blast-Off Buzz Lightyear TV Item. That was always my policy when my kids were little and it served me pretty well--cheaper versions only.

I'm not sure how they counted 20 points of articulation on this... The wings are so close together that the top ones can't actually pivot as they are supposed to (and as they do on the larger orange version of this). The head can turn and the neck goes up and down, but that's about it...
Not a great fit on where the wings meet the body, again, something that was done better on the larger orange version.
It comes with a clear plastic base and stand, but the stand has little bulges that snap into place inside the belly of this to hold it, and i'm not sure how long that's going to be good, it almost feels like something will break when you pull it out.
Colors are a little dull, and i was disappointed that the mouth doesn't open and close - it's permanently in that wide open position.

Maxus Dragonoid is tied with Maxus Helios as the most powerful Bakugan. Bakugan Maxus Helios (7 Figures Combined Into 1) was also released, but isn't as popular since you can buy the pieces separately, unlike with Maxus Dragonoid (the traps are exclusive) and because, while Maxus Helios includes regular Bakugan, Maxus Dragonoid includes 6 Bakugan Traps, unique Bakugan which aid other Bakugan in battle and are generally harder to obtain.
Maxus Dragonoid includes two cards. One of them is a gold Gate Card that benefits any player that has Maxus Dragonoid parts and Maxus Helios parts in a battle. The other card is a red Ability Card that is played at the start of the game and benefits any of your Bakugan that have Maxus Dragonoid traps on them.
It is somewhat difficult to combine the traps and Neo Dragonoid at first, but, as anybody familiar with the Transformers combiners will know, you'll eventually "get the hang of it". The toy measures at a little bit smaller than the $10 Bakugan figures.
Plus, the traps are useful in battle, whereas the Neo Dragonoid, which was strong at the time, is now one of the weaker Bakugan.
In conclusion, Maxus Dragonoid is a neat toy, as well as an aid in battle.

Buying The Original Fart Macine #2 - Remote Fart Machine
I'm not an expert, but I've played around with a few different fart machines that my friends have had, and this one definitely sounds the best. I've done some research and heard that "The Pooter" might sound even better. But with the Pooter, there's no remote and you have to operate it inside your hand. I Like the Fart Machine #2 especially because of the remote. I can "fart" hands free (except, of course, for the remote, which is very small and looks like, perhaps, a tiny pager).
I like to hide it behind my dad when he falls asleep on the couch and gross out my mom while she eats dinner and watches TV. I can trigger it from upstairs, so it has an excellent range.
I've noticed that sometimes the "farts" go off for no reason, but it's rare and so far has not been a problem.
Tonally, the "farts" sound pretty real and it's at a perfect volume. I've been able to fool people a great majority of the time. The only thing I don't like is that some of the sounds are just a little over the top (i.e., too long, too many fluctuations in character in a single "fart").

I prefer the simple, short bursts because, to me, it seems more common and believable. Unfortunately you can't just trigger only certain sounds. But it's not random, it goes through a cycle, so I guess if you wanted, you could go through and cue it up for the desired "fart."
My favorite thing to do is pretend to cough while I "fart." It's great as an ill-fated attempt to cover myself from supposed embarrassment.

The cave has an elevator, a cannon, a hook, three "drawbridge" type doors - one which causes a platform inside the Batcave to spin (for the motorcycle or Batmobile) - , two levels plus the roof, a place for the Batcmputer, a helipad, several Batrangs, a ladder, staircase, an antenna, an internal room on the bottom floor and cool molded in Batdetails.
The Batcave can be used as a carrying case even though it's not very efficient in holding in the toys unless you master the art of placing them in a way that they wouldn't fall out - meaning your kid can't just throw in the accessories, close the compartments and walk away. The Batcave can be enjoyed either from the back (inside the Batcave) or from the front (approaching / attacking the Batcave) - the compartments fit other Imaginext accessories and characters.
The Batcave is made of hard injected molding, it is sturdy, durable and cleans easily after several months of hard playing. Our set came with Batman, Robin and a motorcycle (we bought in on sale at a brick and mortar store).
Easily recommended and a great purchase. Where To Buy Transformers Leader Optimus Prime
This toy should go to the right kind of person: someone who's patient, loves a challenge, and likes a good transformation. This is not for 5 year olds, and not for parents who don't have at least 1 of the above qualities. If you don't fit, don't worry! There are plenty more awesome, simpler transformers that I'm sure you and your child can handle. This Optimus is not one of them. (Want really simple? Look up Fast Action Battlers)
Transforming him into a truck for the first time takes a while, and takes patience; bits like getting his front windows out of his chest and locked into his arms, or getting his front wheels to snap into the grill just right can all be frustrating. After the first time it becomes a lot easier, and a lot more fun! Everything tabs into place very well and he's pretty durable, so my frustrations first transforming him are made up for with the subsequent lack thereof.
But even if you never get him into truck mode, he still makes a darn good action figure.
Also, Youtube videos > directions, but honestly that's not news for anyone who's bought a Transformer before.
Other reviews have already called this a work of art, so I won't repeat them (err... oops?). I'm just fascinated that something that looks so awesome in Robot mode, can also look so perfect in Vehicle mode (and hides everything especially well). There's also little things that make him look better without any additional effort from you, like his back wheels and the way they adjust their angle when you rotate his legs.
My only negatives:
His arm movement is hindered somewhat by his blue shoulder-blades and by his swords. Annoying, but not too bad.
Unless you're super careful, prepare to hear, "I am Optimus Prime" about 5x per transformation, 'cause everytime his neck lifts up at all it triggers.
Aforementioned transformation frustrations.
Feet are big and stable, but he's still a hair back-heavy, so falls backward once in a while if he's standing too straight. Minor detail.
