We got Eve last Christmas for our daughter. It still is alive a year later so we decided to get this for our son. We took it out to play with it before wrapping to make sure it worked well and communicated with Eve. It is super cute and as expressive as Eve is. They do talk to each other with sayings from the movie; "Eeeeevahhhhh, Weaaalleeee" perfect!
The quality is just as good as Eve and I expect it to last a long time. I cant believe Eve still works over a year later. If Wall-E lasts as long it is one of the best we have ever purchased!
The tracks turn on the wheels and Wall-E is poseable. He is so much cheaper this year compared to last year. Very worth it in my opinion.

Desert Tracker Ratchet Review
I am a G1 fan and haven't seen either of the live-action films, but I do like the new transformers in the movie toylines. This is "Desert Tracker Ratchet", a Voyager class transformer from the second live-action movie, "Revenge of the Fallen." He is a redeco of a previous incarnation from the 2007 movie. Unfortunately, I am disappointed in this version of Ratchet due to its lack of durability. It's a shame because this is a very neat looking toy.
My first impression of Ratchet was as a camouflage Hummer (as packaged) when my son opened it. I think that Hummers are very neat looking vehicles, and Ratchet is no exception. It's a big, hulking vehicle that you could imagine clobbering someone with. That's one of my personal definitions of a good toy - when you hit someone with it, it should hurt. There's not a lot of detail or action going on in Ratchet's vehicle mode, although the roof rack is removable (so is the front grill, but I don't think it should be...)
I was a little nervous about working the transform from vehicle to robot. The arms and legs are solid and bulky, but the "backbone" (which I think is a transmission or suspension in vehicle mode) is very thin and felt somewhat fragile to me. Also, some of the movements were hard for me to do the first time without applying more pressure than I felt appropriate. His windshield folds out of the way in a manner that I find visually appealing. The final robot is big and solid, at least over most of the form. He has a secret axe that folds out of his arm, although I think it looks more like a giant cufflink.
My real problem with Ratchet is a fragility of joints that belies his rock-solid appearance. His front undercarriage flips away to reveal his head, but the joints are so loose that the part always falls off the robot. The door panels that make his wings (beyond the doors themselves) fall off constantly and are so loose at this point that a slight touch to the toy causes them to drop off. Unlike the undercarriage bit, this is quite visible in the vehicle mode, although neither one is necessary for the robot mode.
Ultimately, the vehicle mode and robot mode look very nice and are big and solid. Unfortunately, they are not sturdy and my son has an impressive pile of pieces that belong to Ratchet but won't stay on anymore. For a Voyager class figure, I expected better. I think the adult collector will find it an attractive piece, and maybe the youngsters will like it regardless of missing pieces (my son does)Get more detail about Desert Tracker Ratchet.
Halo 3 Flood Combat Human Top Quality
For those not in the know, the Flood are a parasitic species found in the Halo universe. Through the use of Infection forms (small multi-legged and antennaed creatures), they attack, take over, and mutate the bodies of sentient creatures. Whether the sentient is alive or dead makes no difference, so long as the body is in servicable condition. Species doesn't matter so long as it has sufficient mass to be intelligent. They've been shown to infect Human, Sanghelli (Elites), Unggoy (Grunts), and Jiralhanae (Brutes). This one happens to be an unlucky UNSC Marine, equipped with his SMG.
The Combat Form seen here is the second stage of the Flood life cycle. Eventually this form will turn into a Carrier Form and pass the infection on to more unlucky creatures.
Now that the backstory is out of the way, we can get to the toy itself. It is very very detailed. One can see the look of pain etched onto the soldier's face, the stubble of his shaved head and the joints of the chitinous extensions of the Flood infection.
He comes equipped with a single UNSC issue SMG. The gun comes with, if I recall correctly, a single storage peg that is common to the Halo figures. Unfortunately, this peg has no where to go on this figure, so it would be very easily lost. The gun is also rather difficult to get into his hand, as shown in the picture. I ended up putting the SMG on my Master Chief figure.
As to the articulation...well...there isn't a whole lot. The torso moves slightly, the arms rotate (in particular, the Flood arm) and the hands rotate. No articulation to the legs. The figure also requires a circular display stand (included) to remain upright. He's not really a 'play' figure, but rather a 'display' figure.
Durability...I have a bit of concern with this figure. The form has three feelers/tentacles extending from the chest. If the figure falls over, there is the chance that these will be damaged.
On the upside, the Flood arm (right side in the picture) has a hand that can easily hold the Fragmentation Grenade that came with my Master Chief.Get more detail about Halo 3 Flood Combat Human.

This Megatron seems so much better than the Movie Leader version, other than the size difference and lack of lights/sounds. The Movie Leader version is top heavy in vehicle mode, making it look more like a world war 1 tank than a cybertronian tank-ship. The Voyager class Megatron is much sleeker and flatter in vehicle mode, and has jet engines, which the movie leader seems to lack.

Very easy to get into robot mode and is extremely stable when standing. I am truly hoping the develop this characters personality in the next movie. Sideways was my first ROTF toy, i was very impressed, so this was the exception to buying a simple "repaint" of another toy, Dead End has a very unique color spectrum, and i love the head mold. the only thing that sort of bothered me was, like many of the other deluxe toys, he isn't colored exactly like on the box art, i don't know if this is so hobbiests can paint them accurately on their own, or if Hasbro is trying to save paint, but i fixed that. We used to have the old leap frog system with the crappy paper spiral books. These are so much better. You get actual hardback books. So even if you don't use the leapfrog pen, you still have a nice book to put on your shelf. And there are some good books in the series, including two Dr. Seuss classics.

I have to say that overall my kids and I liked the soldiers, as others have noted it is made of a softer plastic that seems more durable and cleaner. Far better than any of the cheap bagged sets you often find in the toy or grocery store. The highlight of the collection by far are the parachuters and while they do get tangled up they have held up well. So why the four star versus a five? The fact that there are ten of each figure, yes ten mine sweepers, ten bazooka, ten mortar, ten rifle men and so on, but you also get ten commanding officers in each of the two stances. In other words you get twenty sergeants. Something not apparent in the pictures or on the container. I would have liked two or three extra of each of the other five figures and less sergeants. I am a G1 fan and haven't seen either of the live-action films, but I do like the new transformers in the movie toylines. My son, who is 5yo, and I can play with toys together, which is fairly rewarding. My son bought Sideways along with Blowpipe as part of a WalMart boxed set with his birthday money. These characters are from the new live-action movie toyline, REVENGE OF THE FALLEN. I'll review Blowpipe separately and focus on Sideways here.
My son's boxed set came with Sideways in robot mode, although I believe that he is in alt mode when sold alone. The robot mode is very striking in an insect sort of way - there are translucent wings that point up and back, and backward-jointed legs. I'm reminded of Kickback in a way... I like how the movie has Decepticons that are less anthropomorphic; a giant robot who has insectoid rather than human characteristics is frightening in its alienness. The car mode is also very nice; it looks sleek and powerful, with an attractive color scheme. I know some people don't like the pink tinting to the windows, but I think it adds an organic appearance that contrasts nicely with the gray of the metallic parts.
I knocked off a star for the "sawblade" preventing the tires from contacting the ground. Sleek looking cars ought to roll, and I consider it a serious design flaw to have such a useless body detail obstruct the whole process.
I considered taking off a star for the difficult transform. It is really, really hard to manipulate Sideways so that his shell joins where it ought. My son popped off pieces a few times and then lost interest. It really is too challenging for younger children. However, I've become increasingly enamored of this toy just because of the challenge. Getting the car roof to lie flat while getting other pieces to fit properly requires some practice and forethought, and it really is a thing of beauty when it you do it right.
In summary, I find Sideways to be a challenging but rewarding toy for the older crowd. For children with difficulty doing fine manipulation, Sideways will require too much dexterity and will end up as a pile of parts. Fortunately, the boxed set my son bought had Blowpipe, which lends itself much better to younger hands. Get more detail about Transformers Movie 2 Deluxe Sideways.
