This was the perfect birthday gift for my three-year-old boy. He loves it. It is so much fun to cruise on. It is THE way to teach a child to ride a bike. After having the balance bike,he tried training wheels at age 3 1/2 for about three days, asked to take them off and, voila! He could ride a two wheel bike. The balance bike is fun for even older kids but best of all it teaches balance without the confusion of pedaling and chains and all that. One step at a time. All my son had to do was practice his sense of balance. And it is so easy to throw in the back of the car/van. Light weight but durable and a good-looking piece of art.
