Halo 2009 Wave 1 Elite Combat Review

With a title like that, I could honestly go on for hours.

Alright, the short of it is as follows. The McFarlane Toys Halo line is not know for durability. The joints on the Elites are far better than the Spartans and Humans, but the feet are awkwardly designed, making him prone to falling over. Also, his left hand broke within seconds of me taking him out of the box. It's because the plastic on the finger joint, to move his hands a bit is thin and like all thin plastic with the Halo line, it's prone to breaking.

I do like that the helmet can come off, revealing his unarmored head. Oh, also. The weapon and the little accessory are both well designed, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get him to hold the gun. I look at the stock photo and the nature of the fingers make that position a physical impossibility. I usually just have it on his back, but he falls over a lot. However, he fell once and landed on the peg, driving it back into him. At first I tried to remove it, but it seems the hole in his back is more than double the length of the peg. Why? Why would you do that? It's just asking for it to get lost in there.

Anyway, it's kind of neat. A bit more for display that play, even though he has a hard time standing. Not a stand-alone piece, but better in a collection. Maybe if you get a few other Halo toys, you can get a gun this guy can actually hold.Get more detail about Halo 2009 Wave 1 Elite Combat.
